Sometimes I wear my hair back in a ponytail, sometimes I let it down.

Makeup

August 18, 2011 1 comment

Before I had my modesty conversion, I REALLY wanted to wear makeup, mostly eyeliner. Unforunately, Mom said I had to wait til I was 16 to wear serious makeup like that everyday.

AFTER my modesty conversion, I didn’t feel compelled to wear ANY makeup whatsoever. I only wear ” serious ” makeup for dance performances ( we are required to 😛 ).

Just a note: You can still wear makeup and be ” modest “.

What are your thoughts on wearing makeup and being modest?

Goofy Country Cousin

For all your plain dressing women, you know what I mean. Ever been around a fancy dressing woman, makeup, fancy heels, the works? Ever felt like the goofy country cousin? Well I have something to tell you.

There’s nothing wrong with being a ” goofy country cousin “.

These women are enslaved to their makeup and all that. They spend unnecessary time fixing their hair, painting their hair, etc.

Point is, I know some women will feel out of place with fancy women, but try not to let their looks do that to you. You are a woman of God.

Is This a Sign?

Recently I’ve been looking for veils online. I usually find ones around $12-14.

Today I found a veil for $8.00 ! I was astounded. $8.00?! This is a really good veil too, it covers a lot.

Today, for some reason, I’ve been receiving a little money from my parents ( which is amazing because I, my parents, and my siblings live on Social Security checks. ) which has amounted to a total of $12.

Perhaps God is telling me to get this veil? When I first started covering, I only have head scarfs.

So I’d really appreciate some prayer. 🙂 If I buy it I will posts pics. 🙂

Modesty vs. Immodesty=Christians vs. The World

Jesus said that if we follow him, we will be persecuted. If you’ve ever been picked on, discriminated against, or teased because of your beliefs, you know what I’m talking about.

Just because you’re a Christian doesn’t mean life is going to be easy. I’ve been stared at before, even questioned by some friends as to why I wear what I do. How does one explain their beliefs without offending that person? I’m still learning how to not offend people, lol.

Eventually I will post some pics of the outfits I wear on here, minus my face. I don’t exactly want any stalkers…well, stalking me! XD ( Unless you’re stalking this blog, lol. )

Feel free to post any questions you have about my beliefs or modest attire in the comments section below. I’m open to all questions. 🙂

Modesty for Men

Modesty for women is more talked about than modesty for men. Guys, I’m making a request, please dress modestly. I don’t want to see your muscles all the time. 😉

I’m saying modesty isn’t just for women, it’s for men too. There is no exclusion.

Guys can be just as provocative as women can.

We’re Called To Be Different

As Christians, we’re called to be different, to not be like the world. We need to be a shining light for all the lost people out there.

Our distinct modest attire symbolizes who we are and clearly seperates us from the worldly folk. Your attire lets people know who you are. So if you’re going around dressed like a streetwalker ( even if you’re not one ) people will most likely mistake you for one.

But you can also wear loose pants/jeans etc, and still be modest.

Modesty just isn’t your way of dress, it’s your attitude, it’s the way you act. You can dress modestly but still be acting like a drunken whore!

What I’m saying is, modesty goes deeper than just your dress.
