When Modesty Becomes Immodest

I’ve read many discussions on modesty. Some being this: Long skirts and buns ( or anyway you have your hair ) can draw attention to you, so it is modest any longer?

This is something I’ve been pondering for a few days. Do mu head scarfs draw too much attention? Would a simple ponytail be better? Should I not wear longer skirts, perhaps knee length? Still, any long jean skirts ( non-miniskirts ) still draw a bit of attention.

What’s a girl to do?!??!??!?!?!?!?!

I need to do some saving, online shopping, and find some knee length skirts. Definitely some more dresses, for casualness and church.

Please comment with your thoughts. I’m feeling confused.

Hi, MC! I’ve also been told that skirts are immodest because they draw attention when everyone else is wearing jeans. My thought? Don’t fall for it. That’s “modesty relativism.” We should be looking to the Lord for our standards, not to our ever-changing culture. You’re not drawing attention to yourself, you’re purposely drawing attention *away* from yourself by covering up and that draws attention toward the God who created us to be holy as He is holy. May you be so radically modest that people always see Him when they look at you.
