A Decision

January 17, 2012 Leave a comment

While I started this blog with good intentions, I feel that some of my recent posts may come off as a little judgemental. Truth is, I’ve been wearing modest dress for nearly a year now and there’s not much left to blog about. So I’ve decided, unless I have something to blog about, to not blog on this blog anymore.

Good-bye! 🙂 And have a safe, blessed day.

What I Have a Problem With-Others Judging Others Based On Appearance

I have been a good many places where people-adults, teens, and children alike-judge other people ( including me ) based on appearance. It’s not only rude but ignorant. Strangers have no idea why I dress the way I do, some family and friends don’t even know why I dress the way I do! Yet some stares, dirty looks ( which I haven’t remembered getting…yet.. ), and those who whisper ” behind my back “, causes me to realize that 1. Some people simply aren’t educated about other beliefs/styles, some are just rude, or some are just admiring me for my modest style. But nonetheless, people will and do judge based on appearance.

An Apology

Overtime, if I’m not careful, I find myself becoming very judgmental of some things or people. And I personally implore all of my dear readers to forgive me if in any of my posts I’ve come off as ” snide “, ” outspoken “, ” judgmental “, or ” legalistic “. I blog in secret ( only my sister is currently aware of my blog, I’ve kept it a secret from the rest of my family ). I blog in secret so I can fully and truthfully express my opinions.

TV Degrades Women

I cannot believe that I have been so blind as to not realize more often that, on TV, a lot of these commericals and game shows are objectifying women. Whether it’s short, tight dresses or overly-exposed cleveage, it’s appalling just how low TV has sunk.

Which brings me to Candid Camera…..and Susanne Summers.

I’m sure the ” older ” generation of my readers are more aware of who Susanne Summers is and what she has played as. But for the ones that watch Candid Camera, you see Susanne’s….umm…..interesting wardrobe selection.

Tight dresses are the problem, and the over-exposement of her chest. I think it’s sad and silly. Women are to be respected, not objectifyed. I’ve seen some of her dresses lately and I’m shocked, though I’m not sure that she actually chooses them on her own. ( I also have a bit of sympathy for the male viewers, in the audience and at home. )

Thoughts? Am I the only one that thinks about this?

Don’t Be A Clone

December 31, 2011 Leave a comment

I often times would ( and sometimes still do ) worry about other people’s opinions. Whether they were family or friends, my modest dress is a big change from the skinny jeans. But then I remembered that everyone has their own style, it’s not on me if they judge me for what I wear, and that my Creator will give me the strength to endure comments or jabs from outspoken people.

Never be afraid to have your own style. In my opinion, being a ” clone ” is if you strictly adhere to the latest fashions but are afraid to wear your pink leopard print flip-flops with skinny jeans when converse shoes are ” supposed ” to be worn with skinny jeans. ( Ok, horrible representation, but I hope you get the jest of what I’m saying. )

Don’t be afraid to be you.

I Want To Be Treated Like A Person, Not An Object

December 30, 2011 Leave a comment

Men, when you see a woman ( or any age of female, teen, girl, etc ) wearing a mini-skirt, what do you do? Does it cause you to lust? Or do you shake your head because you know, whether or not she knows, that she is causing men to lust?

I dress in a modest, feminine manner because I believe that my Creator does not want me to be a stumbling block for the male population.

Some people argue that, because some females don’t wear jeans or anything like pants ( ex. shorts. ), they’re being ” legalistic “. ( Definiton of legalistic from The Free Dictionary )-Law) of, relating to, or exhibiting strict adherence to the law, esp to the letter of the law rather than its spirit.

I’m not sure whether I agree with some women or not that when Yahweh commands us in His Holy Word that women should not wear ” anything that pertaineth to a man “, that is really means women should not wear pants. But I personally believe that, no matter the style of pants, are not feminine.

I want to represent the glory of Yahweh,

I don’t want men to treat me like a sexual object,

I want to be treated like a person .

Respecting Your Body-The Temple of The Creator

December 28, 2011 Leave a comment

Do women respect their bodies anymore? I know some do, but a lot don’t. There’s a lot of ways to disrespect your body ( and we really don’t need to go into explaining all the ways how….. ) and one of them, of course, is wearing immodest, revealing clothing.

Immodest, revealing clothing can be: Tight leggings by themselves, low-cut shirts, bikinis, short shorts, etc.

For those of us trying to be modest, there’s someone else out there ( whether it’s TV or even people we associate ourselves with, trying to influence us differently. ( Sometimes friends don’t know that they’re influencing us! )

Which brings me to another thing: Be very careful who you hang out with and talk to. Some people are bad influences ( I know this from personal experience ) and hinder us in our walk with our Creator.

Jerseylicious

December 28, 2011 Leave a comment

I do my best not to judge people’s attire ( believe me throughout the creation of this blog I realized I was, and still am, very naive. ) but I think we can all agree what attire makes you look like a hooker.

Which brings me to the subject of Jerseylicious.

*sigh*

( Some pics I won’t post because they’re way too immodest and I don’t want to subject any male readers I have to it. )

Jerseylicious is a ” reality tv show ” in New Jersey. It consists of several people, but their fashions are way too ” hooker-like ” and immodest. Boobs pushed up ( I wonder how many of them have had breast implants? ), ” dresses ” that could easily pass for a shirt, etc. It’s appalling with them blatantly disrespecting their bodies like this, it’s also quite sad.

Some them don’t dress immodestly all the time, occasionally they can have some very cute, fashionable, modest outfits. But if any of you have watched it, you know what I’m talking about when I say some of their ” dresses ” could easily pass for a shirt.

In my opinion, I think it can definitely influence teens, pre-teens, women, and even young girls to follow ” Jerseylicious fashions “. What do my readers think? Any comments?

An interesting post:

I like the pictures of the modest attire.

A cute blog post:

( Also, dear readers, please forgive me for not updating this blog as often as I used to. Life can be a little more demanding sometimes and I oftentimes forget to post on here. You can check out my other blog, though, http://www.theheadcoveringgeek.blogspot.com )
